Brake pad warning wiring is a common failure point on many Volkswagen Group vehicles. Over time, the vehicle-side connector can become brittle due to heat, moisture and age, causing the connector to crack or break away completely.
Rather than replacing the complete wiring loom, this repair plug allows you to restore the original brake pad warning circuit quickly and economically.
Available either as a connector with terminals for crimping directly onto your existing wiring, or with pre-crimped repair wires ready to solder into the original loom.

As these vehicles age, the original connector housing often becomes brittle and breaks apart when replacing brake pads or servicing the brakes.

Which Version Do I Need?
Without Wire is ideal if you have the correct crimping tools and wish to fit new terminals directly onto your existing wiring.
With Pre-Crimped Wire is recommended if you prefer to solder the repair wires into your original loom, making installation easier without specialist terminal crimping tools.

Which option should I choose?
If you have the correct open-barrel crimping tools, choose the connector with loose terminals. Otherwise, we recommend the pre-crimped wire version, which simply requires soldering into your existing loom.
Can I fit this myself?
Yes, provided you are confident carrying out basic vehicle wiring repairs. Always ensure all joints are properly insulated and protected against moisture.
Will this clear my brake pad warning light?
If the warning has been caused by a damaged connector or broken wiring, replacing the connector and repairing the wiring should restore the circuit. If the warning remains, the brake pad wear sensor or wiring should be checked for additional faults.
